In modern society, most of the times, the choices you and I make today will not benefit us instantly. For example, If you do a good job at work, you’ll get a paycheck after you've certified an agreement, and that could happen between you and the other party, and it might be weeks, months or annually, nevertheless, it depends on the agreement. Or
If you're out of shape and you want to regain that energetic body of yours, then you need to change your diet and start exercising, it could be indoor or outdoor, and at the beginning you won’t be able to see insane progress instantly, unless you show up daily, and if that consistency is compounded, along the way, you would succeed in some shape or form.
Once a habit is formed, it is unlikely to be forgotten unless you change the system that cause those results, but there are ways to get rid of bad habits and institute good habits .
1. By reducing the cue that caused it.🛀
So, every habits be it good or bad produces several outcomes, so you've to find the cue that causes that habits which doesn't contribute positively to you and get rid of it. Because if you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse, so if you focus on positivity, you'll get more of it, and it will become your life, same happens for negativity, so you've to decide, because every action you take will always determine wether you want to win or lose it.
2. Also by "1% rule" 🏋️
So,these are tiny or small improvements you make on daily basis which would be more noticeable on long run. So the difference of a tiny improvement can be more astounding over a long period of time only if you change your input by 1%. Here’s how the math works out;
if you can get 1% better each day for one year, you will end up 37.7834 times better by the time you’re done.
Or if you keep getting worse for one year you'll be 0.0255 worse by the time you're done.
So what are waiting? Just implement 1% rule and you will become more better by the time you are done.📈
3. Seek specialist 👷
Learn from the experts. Read their books. Listen to their audio programs. Attend their seminars. Write to them or approach them directly and ask them for advice. Because every area of your life you need to seek for specialist, and their is no shame in asking for help or guidance. You should actively seek out people who could mentor you to break bad habits thereby instituting good ones.Sometimes, one idea is all you need to change from bad habits to good ones.
4. Through reading📖
Develop the habit of reading anything that comes to your way and also recognised any book that you think is worth contributing to your good habits,
because, books are concentrated reservoir of knowledge. The more books you read, the more wisdom you encounter and it will help insanely towards instituting good habits. So when
you learn something that align with you and have high possibilities of instituting good habit, accept and love it
Also if you find out something doesn't align with you to institute good habit reject and ignore it. So finally, good habit is not an accident. Sadly, bad habit is not an accident either. You'll succeed to institute good habit or bad habits when you adopt what other people do achieve either good or bad habit.
